Porsche 911 Carrera, Turbo & GT (996): Ultimate Buyers Guide (Ultimate Buyers Guide)

Product Description

The Porsche 911 may been in production for over 40 years, but the modern water-cooled generation share little more than a philosophy with the first examples. Known worldwide by their Porsche internal type number, the 996 models represented a fresh start and offered a new standard in sports car performance and driving satisfaction. This book packs in more specification data. We introduce all the 996 model types, describing the technical specifications, vehicle identification data, performance, colors and options. Using color photography of the cars and many actual problem areas, we introduce each model and what to look for when choosing and buying a used example.

If you know something about these Porsche models and has access to the Internet, this book is pretty useless, at least when it comes to price. He has some nice pictures, but in general the information in this book is readily available on the Internet. This is nowhere near the quality and quantity of information for other Porsche books and guides buyers. There is only a little content here. As for the details of the problem areas and what to look for when purchasing one of the Porsches, this book is still slim on information and notes that even if you want more information, search on the Internet. Other buying tips provided are sufficiently general, may be used for each type of vehicle, can be found everywhere. If you are looking for buyers guide and need specific information, look elsewhere. If you want some nice pictures and specifications, and then get this, or a quick internet search. Finally, this book was written in the British market. This does not affect much, but keep it in mind (and a conversion unit to the specifications). The only reason this gets two stars, compared to the first, is the fact that the pictures look nice.
